Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Duryodhana Saṃvāda on Restraint and Rājānīti
Chapter 50
कृतां विन्दुसरोरत्नैर्मयेन स्फाटिकच्छदाम् | अपश्यं नलिनीं पूर्णामुदकस्येव भारत
kṛtāṁ bindusaroratnair mayena sphaṭikacchadām | apaśyaṁ nalinīṁ pūrṇām udakasy eva bhārata bhārata |
हे भारत! बिन्दु-सरोवर से लाए गए रत्नों से मयासुर ने स्फटिक-शिलाओं से आच्छादित एक कृत्रिम नलिनी (पुष्करिणी) बनाई थी। वह मुझे जल से भरी हुई-सी प्रतीत हुई। उसमें उतरने को जब मैं वस्त्र उठाने लगा, तभी भीमसेन ठठाकर हँस पड़े। शत्रु की विशिष्ट समृद्धि से मैं मूढ़-सा हो उठा था—और स्वयं तो रत्नहीन ही था।
