षष्ट्या बिभेदाशु च वासुदेव- मनन्तरं फाल्गुमष्टभि श्व । फिर तेलके धोये और पक्षियोंके पंख लगाये गये
ṣaṣṭyā bibhedāśu ca vāsudevam | anantaraṃ phālgunaṃ aṣṭabhiḥ śaraiḥ ||
संजय बोले— उसने साठ बाणों से वासुदेवनन्दन श्रीकृष्ण को क्षणभर में बेधकर बुरी तरह क्षत-विक्षत कर दिया; फिर उसके बाद फाल्गुन अर्जुन पर आठ और बाण चलाए।
संजय उवाच
Even in a dharma-guided cause, war entails unavoidable suffering; the presence of Kṛṣṇa as guide does not remove the harsh consequences of battle, but frames endurance, restraint, and steadfastness as ethical demands amid violence.
Sañjaya reports that the opposing archer showers Kṛṣṇa with sixty arrows, wounding him, and then immediately shoots Arjuna with eight arrows—depicting an intense exchange where both charioteer and warrior are targeted.
