ubhau viśluta-karmāṇau pauruṣeṇa balena ca | ubhau ca sadṛśau yuddhe śambarāmararājayoḥ ||
The verse highlights how, when warriors abandon restraint and commit fully to combat, the contest becomes a test of sheer prowess and strength; it also cautions that unbridled action (viśluta-karman) intensifies violence and its consequences.
Sañjaya describes two opposing fighters as evenly matched in valor and power, using a mythic comparison: their clash resembles the legendary confrontation between the asura Śambara and Indra, the king of the gods.
