पाणौ पृषत्का लिखिता ममैते धनुश्न दिव्यं विततं सबाणम् | पादौ च मे सरथौ सध्वजौ च न मादृशं युद्धगतं जयन्ति,“मेरे एक हाथमें बाणके चिह्न हैं और दूसरेमें फैले हुए बाणसहित दिव्य धनुषकी रेखा है। इसी प्रकार मेरे पैरोंमें भी रथ और ध्वजाके चिह्न हैं। मेरे-जैसे लक्षणोंवाला योद्धा जब युद्धमें उपस्थित होता है, तब उसे शत्रु जीत नहीं सकते हैं”

pāṇau pṛṣatkā likhitā mamaite dhanuś ca divyaṃ vitataṃ sabāṇam |
pādau ca me sarathau sadhvajau ca na mādṛśaṃ yuddhagataṃ jayanti ||
संजय बोले— मेरे हाथों में बाणों के चिह्न अंकित हैं और फैले हुए, बाणों सहित दिव्य धनुष का भी चिन्ह है। मेरे पैरों में भी रथ और ध्वजा के चिह्न हैं। ऐसे शुभ लक्षणों वाला योद्धा जब युद्ध में उतरता है, तब शत्रु उसे जीत नहीं सकते।
