हस्तिहस्तोपमैश्छिन्नैरूरुभिश्न॒ तरस्विनाम् । बद्धचूडामणिवरै: शिरोभिश्नल सकुण्डलै:
hastihastopamaiś chinnair ūrubhiś ca tarasvinām | baddha-cūḍāmaṇi-varaiḥ śirobhis ca sa-kuṇḍalaiḥ ||
संजय बोले—रणभूमि में बलवान योद्धाओं की हाथी की सूँड के समान मोटी, कटी हुई जाँघें पड़ी थीं; और बँधी हुई चूड़ाओं, श्रेष्ठ चूड़ामणियों तथा कुण्डलों से युक्त मस्तक भी बिखरे पड़े थे।
