अर्जुनस्य शीघ्रप्रयाणं भीम-शकुनियुद्धं च

सृजन्तं सायकान् क्रुद्धं कर्णमाहवशोभिनम् | उन सभी वीरोंने रथ-मार्गसे आकर युद्धभूमिमें शोभा पाने तथा कुपित होकर बाणोंकी वर्षा करनेवाले नरश्रेष्ठ कर्णको चारों ओरसे घेर लिया
sṛjantaṃ sāyakān kruddhaṃ karṇam āhavaśobhinam |
संजय बोले—वे सभी वीर रथ-मार्गों से आगे बढ़कर, युद्धभूमि की शोभा बढ़ाने वाले, क्रुद्ध होकर बाणों की वर्षा करने वाले नरश्रेष्ठ कर्ण को चारों ओर से घेरकर खड़े हो गए।
