युद्धे सहिष्पे हिमवानिवाचलो धनंजयं क्रुद्धममृष्यमाणम् । 'वृक्षोंकी तोड़-उखाड़ देनेवाली प्रचण्ड वायुके समान प्रमथनशील, बलवान, प्रहारकुशल, तोड़-फोड़ करनेवाले तथा अमर्षशील क़ुद्ध अर्जुनका वेग आज मैं युद्धस्थलमें हिमालय पर्वतके समान अचल रहकर सहन करूँगा
yuddhe sahiṣpe himavān ivācalaḥ dhanañjayaṁ kruddham amṛṣyamāṇam | vṛkṣāṇāṁ toḍa-ukhāḍa-dāyinī pracaṇḍa-vāyur iva pramathanaśīlaḥ balavān prahārakuśalaḥ toḍa-phoḍa-kārī tathā amarṣīlaḥ kruddha arjunasya vegaṁ adya ahaṁ yuddhasthale himālaya-parvata-samānam acalaḥ bhūtvā sahiṣye ||
संजय ने कहा—इस युद्ध में मैं क्रुद्ध और अपमान-असहिष्णु धनंजय अर्जुन के वेग को सहन करूँगा। वह वृक्षों को तोड़-उखाड़ देने वाली प्रचण्ड वायु के समान मर्दनशील, बलवान, प्रहार-कुशल और विध्वंसक है; फिर भी आज रणभूमि में मैं हिमालय के समान अचल रहकर उसके आघात को धारण करूँगा।
