तत: श्वेतपताकेन बलाकावर्णवाजिना । हेमपृष्ठेन धनुषा नागकक्ष्येण केतुना
tataḥ śvetapatākena balākāvarṇavājinā | hemapṛṣṭhena dhanuṣā nāgakakṣyeṇa ketunā ||
संजय बोले—तदनन्तर श्वेत पताका से शोभित, बगुलों के समान श्वेत घोड़ों से युक्त, पृष्ठभाग पर स्वर्णमढ़ित धनुष धारण किए, और ध्वजा पर हाथी की कक्ष्या (रस्सी) के चिह्न से अंकित रथ पर आरूढ़ होकर कर्ण युद्धयात्रा के लिए प्रकट हुआ।
