भीष्मस्य मध्याह्नयुद्धवर्णनम् / Mid-day Battle Description: Bhīṣma Engaged by the Pāñcālas
पतितान् विविधांश्षापांश्रित्रान् हेमपरिष्कृतान् । कुथा बहुविधाकाराश्चामरान् व्यजनानि च
sañjaya uvāca |
patitān vividhān śāpān śritrān hemapariṣkṛtān |
kuthā bahuvidhākārāś cāmarān vyajanāni ca ||
संजय बोले—वहाँ नाना प्रकार के अस्त्र-शस्त्र और उपकरण बिखरे पड़े थे, जो अनेक रूपों में बने और स्वर्ण से अलंकृत थे। हाथियों की पीठ पर बिछाए जाने वाले विविध कम्बल, तथा चँवर और व्यजन भी इधर-उधर गिरे दिखाई देते थे। रणभूमि पर राजवैभव के ये चिह्न अब युद्ध-विनाश के बीच धूल में लुढ़के पड़े थे।
