यो5न्वयो मातृकस्तस्य स एनमभिपेदिवान् | संग्राममें पीठ न दिखानेवाला इरावान् जब क्रोधमें भरकर युद्ध कर रहा था, उसी समय उसके मातृकुलके नागोंका समुदाय उसकी सहायताके लिये वहाँ आ पहुँचा
yo 'nvayo mātṛkas tasya sa enam abhipedivān | saṅgrāme pīṭhaṁ na darśayanevāla irāvān yadā krodhena bharan yuddhaṁ karoti sma, tadā tasya mātṛkulasya nāgānāṁ samūhaḥ sahāyatārthaṁ tatra samupāgataḥ ||
संजय बोले—उसके मातृकुल का जो संबंधी-समुदाय था, वही उसकी सहायता को आ पहुँचा। जब पीठ न दिखाने वाला इरावान क्रोध से भरकर समर में जूझ रहा था, तभी उसकी माता के कुल के नागों का समूह सहायतार्थ वहाँ आ गया।
