ततः स राजा सिन्धूनां रथश्रेष्ठी महारथ: । दुर्योधनस्य जग्राह पार्ष्णि सत्पुरुषैर्व॒त:
tataḥ sa rājā sindhūnāṃ rathaśreṣṭhī mahārathaḥ | duryodhanasya jagrāha pārṣṇiṃ satpuruṣair vṛtaḥ ||
तदनंतर सिन्धुओं का राजा, रथियों में श्रेष्ठ महारथी जयद्रथ सत्पुरुषों से घिरा हुआ आया और दुर्योधन के पृष्ठभाग की रक्षा का भार संभाल लिया।
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the wartime dharma of solidarity: capable allies assume protective roles to safeguard their leader and maintain formation integrity, presenting loyalty and responsibility as key martial virtues.
Sanjaya reports that Jayadratha, the Sindhu king and a renowned chariot-warrior, arrives with noble companions and takes charge of protecting Duryodhana’s rear position in the battle array.
