तत्र तत्र हतैश्नापि मनुष्यगजवाजिभि:
tatra tatra hataiś cāpi manuṣya-gaja-vājibhiḥ
संजय बोले—जहाँ-तहाँ मनुष्य, हाथी और घोड़े मरे पड़े थे; उन हतों से भूमि बिछी हुई-सी थी, मानो चारों दिशाएँ युद्ध-विनाश के चिह्नों से अंकित हो गई हों।
