mahātā megha-nādena rathenāmitatejasā | vinighnan kauravānīkaṁ śūrasenāṁś ca pāṇḍavaḥ ||
The verse highlights the overwhelming force of a righteous warrior in battle, while implicitly pointing to the ethical frame of kṣatriya-dharma: power is meaningful when exercised in service of a vowed duty, not mere cruelty. Martial success is thus placed within the larger question of dharma and disciplined conduct.
Sañjaya describes a Pāṇḍava warrior advancing in a thunderous chariot and crushing the Kaurava battle formation, also subduing the Śūrasena contingent. It is a vivid battlefield report emphasizing momentum, sound, splendor, and the breaking of enemy ranks.
