परस्परेण धावन्त: पतिता: पुनरुत्थिता:
sañjaya uvāca | paraspareṇa dhāvantaḥ patitāḥ punar utthitāḥ | jighāṃsantaṃ yudhāṃ śreṣṭha tadā āsīt tumulaṃ mahat ||
संजय बोले—हे श्रेष्ठ योद्धा! उस समय युद्ध बड़ा तुमुल हो उठा। एक-दूसरे पर धावा करने वाले कितने ही सैनिक गिर पड़ते, फिर उठ खड़े होते; मारने की इच्छा से वे फिर-फिर संग्राम में घुस जाते थे।
