अग्निर्ज्योतिरह:३ ४ शुक्ल:+ षण्मासा उत्तरायणम्: | तत्र प्रयाता गच्छन्ति ब्रह्म ब्रह्म॒विदों जना:
agnir jyotir ahaḥ śuklaḥ ṣaṇmāsā uttarāyaṇam | tatra prayātā gacchanti brahma brahmavido janāḥ ||
जिस मार्ग में अग्नि का अधिष्ठाता देवता, ज्योति, दिन, शुक्लपक्ष और उत्तरायण के छह मास—ये अधिष्ठाता माने जाते हैं, उस मार्ग से देह त्यागकर गए ब्रह्मवेत्ता जन क्रमशः उन देवशक्तियों द्वारा ले जाए जाकर ब्रह्म को प्राप्त होते हैं।
अजुन उवाच
The verse teaches that realized knowers of Brahman, departing along the ‘luminous’ sequence—fire, light, day, bright fortnight, and the sun’s northern course—are led onward to attain Brahman. It emphasizes liberation through spiritual knowledge and alignment with an auspicious, orderly cosmic path.
Arjuna is speaking about the post-death journey of yogins who know Brahman. He describes a specific, auspicious route of departure, marked by deities and time-divisions, through which such persons are progressively guided to the supreme goal.
