Kurukṣetra-sainyadarśana and Arjuna-viṣāda (धर्मक्षेत्रे समवेता युयुत्सवः — अर्जुनविषाद)
sañjaya uvāca | yatra dharmo dyutiḥ kāntir yatra hrīḥ śrīs tathā matiḥ | yato dharmas tataḥ kṛṣṇo yataḥ kṛṣṇas tato jayaḥ ||
Victory is inseparable from dharma: when conduct is righteous and supported by modesty, prosperity, and clear judgment, Kṛṣṇa—symbolizing divine alignment and right guidance—is present, and success follows as a consequence.
Sañjaya, reporting the battlefield situation to Dhṛtarāṣṭra, offers a moral assessment: the side grounded in dharma and guided by Kṛṣṇa is destined to prevail, implying that the war’s outcome hinges on ethical legitimacy and wise leadership.
