Bhīṣma-nipāta-saṃvāda — Sañjaya’s Report of Bhīṣma’s Fall (भीष्मनिपातसंवादः)
शंस मे तद् तथा चासीद् युद्ध भीष्मस्य पाण्डवै: । योषेव हतवीरा मे सेना पुत्रस्य संजय
dhṛtarāṣṭra uvāca | śaṁsa me tad yathā cāsīd yuddhaṁ bhīṣmasya pāṇḍavaiḥ | yoṣevā hatavīrā me senā putrasya sañjaya ||
धृतराष्ट्र बोले— “संजय, मुझे बताओ—पाण्डवों के साथ भीष्म का युद्ध जैसा हुआ, वैसा ही विस्तार से कहो। उस संग्राम में शत्रुहन्ता भीष्म के साथ कौन-कौन से वीर थे? उस महावीर सेनापति के मारे जाने पर मेरे पुत्र की सेना, वीरों से विहीन होकर, विधवा-सी हो गई है।”
