तं शब्दं तुमुलं श्रुत्वा पाण्डवानां महारथा:
sañjaya uvāca |
taṁ śabdaṁ tumulaṁ śrutvā pāṇḍavānāṁ mahārathāḥ |
atāḍayan raṇe bhīṣmaṁ sahitāḥ sarvasṛñjayāḥ ||
संजय बोले—पाण्डवों के उठे उस भयंकर, कोलाहलपूर्ण नाद को सुनकर समस्त सृंजय-महारथी एक साथ संगठित होकर रण में भीष्म पर टूट पड़े। शतघ्नी, परिघ, फरसा, मुद्गर, मुसल, प्रास, गोफन, स्वर्णपंख वाले बाण, शक्ति, तोमर, कम्पन, नाराच, वत्सदन्त और भुशुण्डी आदि अस्त्र-शस्त्रों से वे उन्हें चारों ओर से आघात कर रणभूमि में पीड़ा देने लगे।
