भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः
Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma
देवव्रतः कृती भीष्म: प्रेक्षितेनापि निर्दहेत् । गम्यतां स वधोपायं प्रष्टं सागरगासुत:
sañjaya uvāca | devavrataḥ kṛtī bhīṣmaḥ prekṣitena api nirdahēt | gamyatāṃ sa vadhopāyaṃ praṣṭuṃ sāgaragāsutaḥ |
संजय बोले—देवव्रत भीष्म समर्थ और कृतकर्मा वीर हैं; वे केवल दृष्टिपात से भी जला डालें। अतः गंगापुत्र भीष्म से उनके वध का उपाय पूछने के लिए चलना चाहिए।
