भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ११०: पार्थभीमयोः प्रहारः तथा भीष्माभिमुखं संग्रामविस्तारः
Arjuna and Bhima’s pressure; escalation toward Bhishma
जीवितं बहु मन्ये5हं जीवितं हाद्य दुर्लभम् । जीवितस्याद्य शेषेण चरिष्ये धर्ममुत्तमम्
jīvitaṃ bahu manye 'haṃ jīvitaṃ hy adya durlabham | jīvitasya 'dya śeṣeṇa cariṣye dharmam uttamam ||
संजय बोले— “इस समय मैं जीवन को ही बहुत मूल्यवान मानता हूँ; आज तो जीवन भी दुर्लभ हो गया है। आज से जितना जीवन शेष है, उसी में मैं उत्तम धर्म का आचरण करूँगा।”
