Multiple Defensive Engagements to Protect Bhīṣma

वार्ष्णेय भुजवेगेन प्रणुन्ना सा महाहवे । अभिदुद्राव वेगेन कालरात्रियथा नरम्‌

sañjaya uvāca | vārṣṇeya bhujavegena praṇunnā sā mahāhave | abhidudrāva vegena kālarātriyathā naram ||

संजय बोले—उस महासमर में वार्ष्णेय की भुजाओं के वेग से प्रेरित वह शक्ति अत्यन्त तीव्र गति से भीष्म की ओर दौड़ी, मानो कालरात्रि मनुष्य पर टूट पड़ी हो।
