atha ṣaṣṭhe gate kāle yavaprastham upārjayan
फिर छठा काल बीत जाने पर उसने यवप्रस्थ—अन्न-प्रबंध—उपार्जित करने का प्रयत्न किया।
नकुल उवाच
The verse highlights timely, responsible preparation—acquiring necessary provisions when the proper time arrives—reflecting a dharmic ethic of foresight and orderly conduct rather than negligence or excess.
Nakula states that after a specified span of time had elapsed (the sixth period), the person in question began procuring yavaprastha—food-grain supplies—indicating practical arrangements being made as events progress.
