सरांसि सरितश्नैव वनान्युपवनानि च । अत्यक्रामन्महाराजो गिरिं चाप्यन्वपद्यत
sarāṃsi saritaś caiva vanāny upavanāni ca | atyakrāman mahārājo giriṃ cāpy anvapadyata ||
वैशम्पायन बोले— वह महाप्रतापी राजा सरोवरों और नदियों को पार करता, वनों और उपवनों से होकर आगे बढ़ता गया; और पर्वतीय मार्ग का भी अनुसरण करते हुए अपनी राजयात्रा में निरन्तर अग्रसर रहा।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights steadfastness and disciplined forward movement in a king’s duty: he continues his appointed course despite varied terrains, suggesting that righteous undertakings require endurance and orderly progress.
Vaiśampāyana describes the great king’s onward journey: he traverses lakes, rivers, forests, and groves, and then continues along/through a mountainous region as part of the unfolding events in the Aśvamedhika Parva.
