इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आश्वमेधिकपर्वके अन्तर्गत अनुगीतापर्वमें उत्तंक मुनिका उपाख्यानविषयक सत्तावनवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
tataḥ sa pūjito nāgais tad-uttaṅkaḥ pratāpavān | agnim pradakṣiṇaṃ kṛtvā jagāma guru-sadma tat ||
तदनन्तर नागों से सम्मानित होकर प्रतापी उत्तंक मुनि ने अग्निदेव की प्रदक्षिणा की और गुरु के आश्रम की ओर चल दिए।
