वर्णतो गुणतश्चैव योनितश्वैव तत्त्वतः । सर्वमेतत्तमो विप्रा: कीर्तितं वो यथाविधि,विप्रवरो! वर्ण, गुण, योनि और तत्त्वके अनुसार मैंने आपसे तमोगुणका पूरा-पूरा यथावत् वर्णन किया
varṇato guṇataś caiva yonitaś caiva tattvataḥ | sarvam etat tamo viprāḥ kīrtitaṃ vo yathāvidhi ||
वायु ने कहा—हे विप्रो! वर्ण, गुण, योनि और तत्त्व के अनुसार तम का यह समस्त वर्णन मैंने आपसे विधिपूर्वक यथावत् कह दिया है।
