पापयोनिं समापतन्नाश्वाण्डाला मूकचूचुका: । वर्णान् पर्यायशश्षापि प्राप्रुवन्त्युत्तरोत्तरम्
pāpayoniṁ samāpatann āśvāṇḍālā mūkacūcukāḥ | varṇān paryāyaśaś cāpi prāpnuvanty uttarottaram ||
वायु ने कहा—कुछ लोग फिर पापयोनियों में गिरते हैं; वे चाण्डाल, मूक या अटककर बोलने वाले जन्म लेते हैं। तथापि कर्म-शेष के क्षय और पुण्य के परिपाक से, जन्म-जन्मान्तर के क्रम में वे उत्तरोत्तर उच्च वर्ण भी प्राप्त कर लेते हैं।
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse emphasizes karmic causality across rebirths: harmful actions can lead to degraded or impaired births, yet through the gradual exhaustion of residual sin and the maturation of merit, a being may rise step-by-step to better conditions.
Vāyudeva is describing the post-mortem and rebirth outcomes of beings according to their remaining karmic residues—some are reborn in low or afflicted conditions, while others, over successive births, attain progressively higher social standing.
