ज्योतिराकाशमादित्यो वायुरिन्द्र: प्रजापति: । नोपैति यावदध्यात्मं तावदेतान् न पश्यति
jyotir ākāśam ādityo vāyur indraḥ prajāpatiḥ | nopaiti yāvad adhyātmaṁ tāvad etān na paśyati ||
वायु ने कहा—ज्योति, आकाश, सूर्य, वायु, इन्द्र और प्रजापति—जब तक मनुष्य को अध्यात्म-ज्ञान प्राप्त नहीं होता, तब तक वह इन तत्त्वों का यथार्थ स्वरूप नहीं देख पाता। आत्मज्ञान उदित होने पर इनका सत्य भी प्रकट हो जाता है।

Without adhyātma-jñāna (realization of the inner Self), one’s understanding of even the greatest cosmic powers—light, space, sun, wind, Indra, Prajāpati—remains superficial. Self-knowledge clarifies the true nature of these principles and removes mistaken perception.
Vāyu is instructing the listener that spiritual insight is the key to right vision: until the inner Self is known, the realities symbolized by major deities and elements are not properly ‘seen’; with Self-realization, their essential truth becomes intelligible.
