Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
रुद्रस्तु तेजो5प्रतिमं धारयामास वै तदा । प्रस्कन्नं तु ततस्तस्मात् किंचित्तत्रापतद् भुवि
rudras tu tejo 'pratimaṃ dhārayāmāsa vai tadā | praskannaṃ tu tatas tasmāt kiñcit tatrāpatad bhuvi ||
भीष्म ने कहा— उस समय रुद्रदेव ने अपने अनुपम तेज (वीर्य) को रोक तो लिया था; फिर भी उसका थोड़ा-सा अंश स्खलित होकर वहीं पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा।
