शक्यं होवाहवे योद्धं न दातुमनसूयितम्
śakyaṃ hovāhave yoddhaṃ na dātum anasūyitam
भीष्म बोले—रण में योद्धा मिल जाना संभव है; परंतु जो ईर्ष्या और दोष-दृष्टि से रहित हो, ऐसा पुरुष किसी को दान में नहीं दिया जा सकता, न सहज ही प्राप्त कराया जा सकता है। ऐसी वृत्ति दी नहीं जाती—वह धर्मगुण के रूप में साधकर ही उत्पन्न होती है।
