शूरा बहुविधा: प्रोक्तास्तेषामर्थास्तु मे शृणु । शूरान्वयानां निर्दिष्ट फलं शूरस्य चैव हि
bhīṣma uvāca | śūrā bahuvidhāḥ proktās teṣām arthāṁs tu me śṛṇu | śūrānvayānāṁ nirdiṣṭaṁ phalaṁ śūrasya caiva hi ||
भीष्म ने कहा—शूरवीरों के अनेक भेद बताए गए हैं; अब उनके अभिप्राय मुझसे सुनो। ऐसे शूरों के वंशजों के लिए और स्वयं शूर के लिए जो फल विधान किया गया है, उसे मैं बताता हूँ।
