दानफलप्रकरणम् — उपानहदानं, तिलदानं, भूमिदानं, गोदानं, अन्नदानं च
Gifts and Their Stated Results: Footwear, Sesame, Land, Cows, and Food
अप्यल्पं प्रददुः सर्वे पृथिव्या इति नः श्रुतम् । भूमिमेव ददुः सर्वे भूमिं ते भुञज्जते जना:
apy alpaṁ pradaduḥ sarve pṛthivyā iti naḥ śrutam | bhūmim eva daduḥ sarve bhūmiṁ te bhuñjate janāḥ ||
भीष्म बोले—हमने सुना है कि जिन्होंने पृथ्वी का थोड़ा-सा अंश भी दान किया है, वे भी भूमिदान का पूर्ण फल पाते हैं। वास्तव में जो भूमि देता है, वह मानो समस्त पृथ्वी ही देता है; और लोग परलोक में उसी भूमि का भोग करते हैं।
