गंगायमुनयोवेंगं सुभीम॑ं भीमनि:स्वनम् | प्रतिजग्राह शिरसा वातवेगसमं जवे
gaṅgāyamunayor vegaṃ subhīmaṃ bhīmaniḥsvanam | pratijagrāha śirasā vātavegasamaṃ jave ||
भीष्म बोले—गंगा और यमुना का प्रवाह अत्यन्त भयानक था, उसकी गर्जना भीषण थी। वायु-वेग के समान तीव्र और असह्य होते हुए भी उस मुनि ने उसे अपने मस्तक पर सह लिया।
