परिखेदपरित्रासाज्जालस्यथाकर्षणेन च । मत्स्या बभूवुर्व्यापन्ना: स्थलसंस्पर्शनेन च
parikhedaparitrāsāj jālasya athākarṣaṇena ca | matsyā babhūvur vyāpannāḥ sthala-saṁsparśanena ca ||
भीष्म ने कहा—जाल के कारण हुए अत्यन्त खेद और त्रास से, उसे खींचकर बाहर निकालने से, तथा सूखी भूमि के स्पर्श से बहुत-से मत्स्य मर गए। मत्स्यों का यह संहार देखकर मुनि करुणा से भर उठे और बार-बार दीर्घ निःश्वास लेने लगे।
