एको विड्वर्ण एवाथ तथात्रैवोपलक्षित: । षडपध्वंसजास्ते हि तथैवासपदान् शृणु
eko viḍvarṇa evātha tathātraivopalakṣitaḥ | ṣaḍapadhvaṃsajāste hi tathaivāsapadān śṛṇu ||
भीष्म बोले—यहाँ एक मिश्रित वर्ण भी विशेष रूप से संकेतित है। वास्तव में, इसी प्रसंग में ये छह ‘अपध्वंसज’ (अनुलोम-संतान) बताए गए हैं। अब ‘अपसद’—अर्थात् प्रतिलोम से उत्पन्न—उनका वर्णन सुनो।
