यह तीर्थ-सेवनका कार्य परम पवित्र, पुण्यप्रद, स्वर्गकी प्राप्तिका सर्वोत्तम साधन और वेदोंका गुप्त रहस्य है। प्रत्येक तीर्थ पावन और स्नानके योग्य होता है ।।
idaṃ dadyād dvijātīnāṃ sādhōr ātma-hitasya ca | suhṛdāṃ ca japet karṇe śiṣyasyānugatasya ca ||
तीर्थ-सेवन का यह कार्य परम पवित्र, पुण्यप्रद, स्वर्ग-प्राप्ति का सर्वोत्तम साधन और वेदों का गुप्त रहस्य है; प्रत्येक तीर्थ पावन और स्नान के योग्य है। इस तीर्थ-माहात्म्य को द्विजातियों, अपने हितैषी साधु पुरुष, सुहृदों तथा अनुशासित अनुगत शिष्य के कान में ही (गुप्त रूप से) कहना चाहिए।
