भीष्म उवाच
The verse reinforces the dharmic practice of remembrance (smaraṇa) and reverent naming: honoring divine beings, sages, and sacred waters is presented as spiritually protective and harmonizing with cosmic order.
Bhīṣma continues a long enumerative recitation—effectively a litany of revered entities—within a broader protective and sanctifying context, listing Surabhi, Viśravā, Saṅkalpa, the Ocean, the rivers led by Gaṅgā, and the Maruts.
