tat kathaṃ vai nādriyeyam īśvaro ’smi iti putraka | mā te manyur mahābāho bhavatv atra dvijān prati ||
Even if one feels powerful or ‘capable like a lord’ (īśvaro ’smi), that is not a license to disregard Brahmins or dharmic authorities; anger toward the dvijas should be restrained, and reverence maintained as a matter of dharma.
Vāyudeva addresses his son, explaining that in the given situation he cannot neglect honoring Brahmins, and he admonishes the son not to become angry at the twice-born, framing the issue as a test of self-control and proper conduct.
