Truthfulness and integrity are presented as foundational virtues: those who are steadfast in truth and comparable to sages naturally become fit abodes of Śrī (prosperity and auspiciousness). Prosperity is not merely possessed; it is sustained by righteous conduct.
Bhishma is characterizing a group being discussed as uniformly virtuous—truth-bound and sage-like—and therefore worthy of prosperity. The statement functions as a moral assessment that questions or frames how others should treat such beings.
