च्यवन उवाच न चेत् करिष्यसि वचो मयोक्तं बलसूदन । मया प्रमथित: सद्यः सोमं पास्यसि वै मखे
cyavana uvāca | na cet kariṣyasi vaco mayoktaṃ balasūdana | mayā pramathitaḥ sadyaḥ somaṃ pāsyasi vai makhe ||
च्यवन ने कहा—हे बलसूदन! यदि तुम मेरी कही हुई बात नहीं मानोगे, तो मेरे द्वारा तुम्हारा अभिमान चूर्ण कर दिया जाएगा और इसी यज्ञ में तुम तत्काल सोमपान करने को विवश हो जाओगे।
