Adhyāya 142: Cyavana, the Devas’ Arrogance, and Vāyu’s Counsel on Protecting Brāhmaṇas
सहस्रचित्यो: राजर्षि: प्राणानिष्टान् महायशा: । ब्राह्मणार्थे परित्यज्य गतो लोकाननुच्तमान्
sahasracityo rājārṣiḥ prāṇān iṣṭān mahāyaśāḥ | brāhmaṇārthe parityajya gato lokān anuttamān ||
भीष्म ने कहा— महायशस्वी राजर्षि सहस्रचित्य ने ब्राह्मण के हितार्थ अपने प्राणों तक का परित्याग कर दिया; और इसी त्याग से वे अनुपम लोकों को प्राप्त हुए।
