Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
पशुपतिवचनाद् भवामि सद्य: कृमिरथवा तरुरप्यनेकशाख: । अपशुपतिवरप्रसादजा मे त्रिभुवनराज्यविभूतिरप्यनिष्टा
paśupativacanād bhavāmi sadyaḥ kṛmir athavā tarur apy anekaśākhaḥ | apaśupativarprasādajā me tribhuvanarājyavibhūtir apy aniṣṭā ||
वासुदेव बोले—भगवान् पशुपति के वचन से मैं तत्काल प्रसन्नतापूर्वक कीट भी बन जाऊँ, अनेक शाखाओं वाला वृक्ष भी हो जाऊँ। परन्तु पशुपति (शिव) के अतिरिक्त किसी और के वर-प्रसाद से यदि मुझे त्रिभुवन का राज्य-वैभव भी मिले, तो वह भी मुझे अभीष्ट नहीं।
