आप ही प्राणियोंकी सृष्टि करते हैं, आप ही समस्त प्रजाका संहार करते हैं और आप ही मनुष्योंसहित सम्पूर्ण प्राणियोंकी सनातन प्रकृति (मूल कारण) हैं ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | samprahasya tato viṣṇur idaṃ vacanam abravīt | cakreṇa nihatā daityāḥ padbhyāṃ krāntā vasundharā | varāharūpaṃ dhṛtvā hiraṇyākṣo nipātitaḥ | vāmanabrāhmaṇarūpeṇa baliḥ jitavān mayā |
भीष्म ने कहा—तब भगवान् विष्णु हँसकर बोले—देवराज! मैंने चक्र से दैत्यों का वध किया है; अपने दोनों चरणों से पृथ्वी को आक्रान्त किया है। वराह-रूप धारण कर मैंने हिरण्याक्ष को गिराया, और वामन ब्राह्मण का रूप लेकर मैंने राजा बलि को वश में किया।
