Sāma (Sāntva) and Dāna: The Brāhmaṇa’s Conciliatory Release from a Rākṣasa
ब्राह्मणश्रैन्न विन्देत श्रुतवृत्तोपसंहित: । प्रतिग्रहीता दानस्य मोघं स्थात् धनिनां धनम्
brāhmaṇaḥ śraiḥ na vindeta śrutavṛttopasaṃhitaḥ | pratigrahītā dānasya moghaṃ syāt dhanināṃ dhanam ||
यदि विद्या और सदाचार से सम्पन्न ब्राह्मण—जो दान ग्रहण करने का प्रधान अधिकारी है—धन न पाए, तो धनियों का धन व्यर्थ हो जाए; क्योंकि दान का पात्र ही न मिले।
