Praise of Ācāra as the Basis of Longevity, Fame, and Prosperity
न हीदृशमनायुष्यं लोके किंचन विद्यते । यादृशं पुरुषस्येह परदारोपसेवनम्
na hīdṛśam anāyuṣyaṁ loke kiṁcana vidyate | yādṛśaṁ puruṣasyeha paradāropasevanam ||
भीष्म ने कहा— इस लोक में पराई स्त्री का संग करने जैसा आयु-नाशक कोई कर्म नहीं है। यहाँ पुरुष के लिए परस्त्री-सेवन से बढ़कर जीवन को शीघ्र क्षीण करने वाला दूसरा कोई कार्य नहीं।
