वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse links ideal kingship with dharma: a ruler’s fame and legitimacy arise from righteous conduct and the responsible performance of great public rites (Rājasūya and Aśvamedha), which symbolize governance aligned with Vedic order.
Vaiśampāyana continues a genealogical account, identifying Matināra as the son of Anādṛṣṭi and characterizing him as a renowned, highly righteous king who performed major royal sacrifices.
