Āstīka-stuti at Janamejaya’s Sacrifice (आस्तीकस्तुतिः / यज्ञप्रशंसा)
गच्छाम्यहं तं त्वरित: सद्य: कर्तुमपज्वरम् । मयाभिपन्नं तं चापि न सर्पो धर्षयिष्यति,काश्यपने कहा--ब्रह्मन! मैं वहाँ जाता हूँ जहाँ कुरुकुलके श्रेष्ठ राजा परीक्षित् रहते हैं। सुना है कि आज ही तक्षक नाग उन्हें डँसेगा। अतः मैं तत्काल ही उन्हें नीरोग करनेके लिये जल्दी-जल्दी वहाँ जा रहा हूँ। मेरे द्वारा सुरक्षित नरेशको वह सर्प नष्ट नहीं कर सकेगा
gacchāmy ahaṃ taṃ tvaritaḥ sadyaḥ kartum apajvaram | mayābhipannaṃ taṃ cāpi na sarpo dharṣayiṣyati ||
काश्यप ने कहा—“मैं तुरंत, शीघ्र ही वहाँ जा रहा हूँ, ताकि उसे विष-ज्वर से तत्काल मुक्त कर दूँ। और जब वह मेरे संरक्षण में होगा, तब कोई भी सर्प उसे परास्त नहीं कर सकेगा।”
