ततो5शनिमुचो घोरांस्तडित्स्तनितनि:स्वनान् | तद्विघातार्थमसृजदर्जुनो 5प्यस्त्रमुत्तमम्
tato ’śanimuco ghorāṁs taḍit-stanita-niḥsvanān | tad-vighātārtham asṛjad arjuno ’py astram uttamam vāyavyam ||
तब बिजली की चमक और गर्जना से भयानक वे मेघ पृथ्वी पर वज्र गिराने लगे। उस आघात को निष्फल करने के लिए, अस्त्र-प्रत्यस्त्र की विद्या में निपुण अर्जुन ने अभिमन्त्रित करके वायव्य नामक उत्तम अस्त्र का प्रयोग किया; उससे इन्द्र के वज्र और मेघों का तेज तथा बल नष्ट हो गया।
