बक-राक्षसस्य आह्वानम् तथा वृक्षयुद्धम्
Summons of Baka and the Tree-Weapon Engagement
तच्छुत्वा भीमसेनस्य मातृस्नेहात् प्रजल्पितम् । कारुण्येन मनस्तप्तं गमनायोपचक्रमे,माताका वात्सल्यसे कहा हुआ वह वचन सुनकर भीमसेनका हृदय करुणासे भर आया। वे मन-ही-मन संतप्त हो उठे और स्वयं ही (पानी लानेके लिये) जानेकी तैयारी करने लगे
tac chrutvā bhīmasenasya mātṛsnehāt prajalpitam | kāruṇyena manas taptaṃ gamanāyopacakrame ||
माता के स्नेह से कही हुई वह बात सुनकर भीमसेन का हृदय करुणा से भर उठा। मन में संतप्त होकर वह स्वयं ही जल लाने के लिए जाने की तैयारी करने लगा।
