FAQs

This verse states that when the prescribed rites are properly performed, the departed gains prolonged residence in Pitṛloka and attains a Deva-like status in heaven, indicating the ritual’s role in securing post-death welfare.

It presents a merit-based progression: correct performance of the indicated post-death observance leads first to stability in the ancestral realm (Pitṛloka) and then to heavenly attainment (divi) with elevated, Deva-like standing.

Perform ancestral rites with sincerity and correctness, and cultivate dharmic living that supports such duties—honoring lineage, gratitude, and ethical conduct as integral to spiritual responsibility.
