शिवपूजाकथनम् (Śiva-pūjā-kathana) — The Exposition of Śiva Worship
यह अध्याय पूर्व सूर्य-पूजा के उपसंहार के बाद ईश्वर द्वारा शिव-पूजा का सुव्यवस्थित विधान बताता है। आचमन, प्रणव-संस्कृत अर्घ्य, अस्त्राम्बु से द्वार-प्रोक्षण तथा प्रवेश-रक्षकों और सहदेवताओं की पूजा (गण, सरस्वती, लक्ष्मी; नन्दी, गंगा; महाकाल, यमुना) वर्णित है। साधक एड़ी-प्रहार, देह-क्रियाएँ, दहिने पाँव से प्रवेश, बाएँ द्वार-स्तम्भ का सहारा लेकर भीतर जाता है; उदुम्बर-स्तम्भ पर अस्त्र-रक्षा स्थापित कर मध्य में वास्तु-अधिपति ब्रह्मा की पूजा करता है। फिर कलशादि सामग्री-व्यवस्था, भूतशुद्धि, प्राणायाम, ग्रन्थि-भेद, द्वादशान्त और बिन्दु-ध्यान; पृथ्वी-जल-अग्नि-वायु-आकाश तत्त्वों का मण्डल-कल्पना व बीज-मन्त्रों से शोधन और हृदय-पीठ की स्थापना होती है। सकलीकरण, अस्त्र-परिधि, शक्ति-जाल, महामुद्रा के बाद हृदय-कमल में शिव की अन्तःपूजा, अर्घ्य व उपकरण-निर्माण तथा लिङ्ग-शुद्धि बताई गई है। पंचवक्त्र-दशभुज शिव का ध्यान, मूल/शिरः/शिखा/कवच/अस्त्र-न्यास, उपचार-क्रम और क्रमशः द्रव्यों से अभिषेक; अंत में आरती, भोग, जप-आहुति, स्तोत्र, प्रदक्षिणा, अष्टमूर्ति शिव को अष्टांग प्रणाम तथा अग्नि आदि रूपों/चित्र-आधारित ध्यान से निरंतर पूजा का निर्देश है।
